The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Milledgeville Police Department
A property owner of a residence on West Charlton Street reported Dec. 4 that furniture and appliances were stolen from her property.
Theft by Taking
A North Columbia Street business reported Dec. 4 that an individual took $94.68 in cash after he attempted to pay for his items with a $100 bill and then decided to pay with another denomination instead. The individual could not find a lower denomination, but never provided the cashier with the $100.
An employee of a North Columbia Street business reported Dec. 5 that another employee struck her during an argument.
Officers responded to a reported of shots fired in the area of East Byner Street Dec. 5 and located a man suffering from a gun shot wound. The individual was taken to a Macon hospital. The incident was determined to have taken place on West Charlton Court.
Interference with Government Property
A woman was arrested Dec. 6 for underage possession of alcohol and interference with government property after it was reported that she ripped a drum off a toy soldier.
A woman reported Dec. 6 that credit cards had been taken out in her deceased husband’s name and that the same individual had taken funds from her bank account without her permission.
A man reported Dec. 8 that he was punched in the face by another individual after no provocation while downtown. The man who was injured had broken nose and required stitches.
Two individuals were arrested and charged with public drunkenness Dec. 8 after officers witnessed them involved in a loud argument on the corner of West McIntosh and North Wayne Street.
Theft by Taking
A North Columbia Street business reported Dec. 8 that four males were captured on camera stealing signs from the location.
Criminal Damage to Property
An apartment complex reported Dec. 8 that someone had destroyed a urinal in the property’s pool house.
