MILLEDGEVILLE — Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart loss prevention employee reported the theft of merchandise by a female around 1:42 p.m. June 13. The woman was seen placing playing cards and T-shirts in her purse. She tried to leave the store without paying for the items but was stopped by a Walmart employee who witnessed the theft.

Theft by Taking

Officers were dispatched to a Brook Street residence June 13 in reference to the theft of cell phones. The owner of the residence said that while her friend was visiting, she invited a male friend into the home. When the woman returned from church, she noticed that four cell phones were missing from the residence. Her friend and her guest were the only ones who had been in the house that morning.

Burglary

A woman at a North Irwin Street address reported a break-in at her home June 16. When she returned home she discovered that someone took the screen off of a window. Approximately $220 in cash and a television was reported missing from the residence.

Theft Auto

Officers were dispatched to a Pine Avenue address around 6:29 p.m. June 14 in response to the theft of a truck. The owner of the vehicle told officers that her truck was taken without permission by a man that she knew. She said that the man came into her home and asked if she would take him somewhere, but she did not give him a response. She was later notified by a friend that her vehicle was missing from the residence.

Entering Auto

A man reported the theft of his semi-automatic handgun from his vehicle while it was parked in a West Bypass Road parking lot June 14. He told officers that he left the vehicle unlocked in the parking lot. When he returned the handgun was missing.

Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart loss prevention employee reported the theft of merchandise from the toy section of the store by a male June 15. The man was seen going into the toy department and taking a John Cena action figure from the shelf. He attempted to leave the store without paying for the item.
