MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

 

Burglary

A Coombs Avenue property owner reported Oct. 29 that his garage had been broken into. A bar saw, limb saw and a generator were reported stolen. Officers noticed a broken latch on the garage door.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported Oct. 30 that someone had stolen her wedding rings from her jewelry box.

Theft of Service

A cable provider reported that a residence on Frazier Drive had been illegally hooked up to cable services. A warrant has been taken out in the homeowner’s name for theft of service.

Criminal Trespass

A property owner on Ivey Weaver Road reported Oct. 30 that approximately 1,000 feet of his electric fence had been taken down and nearly 500 feet had been stolen.

Warrant Service

An individual was arrested Oct. 30 after officers went to a residence to serve a warrant. When officers finally made entry into the home the individual was found hiding under the home after climbing through a furnace vent. The individual’s warrants were served and the individual was also charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Possession of Marijuana

An employee of a business on Vinson Highway reported that people were loitering outside the business on Oct. 29. Officers responded to the scene and when they approached one of the individuals he smelled of marijuana. During a weapon pat down a baggie containing marijuana was found. The individual was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

Burglary

A resident of Lake Laurel Road reported Oct. 30 that her home had been burglarized. A flat screen television, coins, a tablet, a pair of Michael Jordan sneakers and a bottle of antibiotics were stolen.

Damage to Property

A business owner on Georgia Highway 212 reported that an individual had hit its mailbox with a vehicle Oct. 28.

Theft by Taking

A church member reported Oct. 28 that the gas cap had been cut and removed from a vehicle belonging to the church and approximately half a tank of gas was stolen.

Obstruction of Law Enforcement

Officers responded to a call in regards to an unknown individual sleeping in the bushes at an apartment complex on Frank Bone Road Oct. 28. When officers approached the individual’s location he fled. His identity was later determined, warrants for loitering/prowling and obstruction of law enforcement have been taken out in his name.

Criminal Trespass

A man was arrested Oct. 27 after turning himself in for unintentionally damaging three vehicles in a parking lot and leaving the scene. He has been charged with three counts of criminal trespass.

Possession of Marijuana

A woman was arrested Oct. 30 after officers pulled her over for a missing headlight. Officers detected the smell of marijuana during the traffic stop and a baggy of the substance was found in her purse during a search. The woman was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
