MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office
During a warrant service Jan. 13 an individual attempted to flee from an officer. The individual was driving a vehicle and while the officer was speaking with him he tried to drive forward and roll up his window. The officer’s arm became stuck and he had to break the car window to free himself. The officer then followed in his vehicle until the individual crashed into a ditch and fled the scene on foot. Additional warrants have been taken out for fleeing a police officer, obstruction of officers and aggravated assault on a police officer.
An individual was arrested for marijuana possession less than one ounce Jan. 13.
A woman reported Jan. 14 that her Heritage Place residence was entered and the belongings in her bedroom strewn about.
Obstruction of Officers
During a warrant service an individual attempted to hide from police under the kitchen sink inside the cabinet. He was charged with obstruction of officers.
A woman was arrested Jan. 14 and charged with false statements and affray after being involved in an altercation and falsely reporting the event to police.
Damage to Property
A vehicle owner reported that he accidentally struck a homeowner’s mailbox Jan. 13.
A vehicle owner reported Jan. 14 that someone had attempted to break into their vehicle. There was significant damage to the vehicle, including a broken antennae.
Gasoline Drive Off
A gas station reported Jan. 15 that a vehicle drove off without paying for the full price of the gas pumped.
