Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office
Deputies were dispatched to an Irwinton Road address in response to a report of a burglary and theft occurring sometime between June 5 and June 6. A woman told the deputies that upon returning home she noticed the front door of her residence was unlocked. She also noticed that a few boxes in the living room had been opened. A mattress set with box springs, a nightstand, and a bed headboard was reported missing from the home.
Obstruction of Officers
A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black Cadillac June 9 in reference to the vehicle traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. When approaching the driver, he noticed that the driver only pulled the window down halfway. In addition, he could also smell a strong odor of what was believed to be marijuana. The deputy asked the man to let the window down all the way and he proceeded to argue with him as to why he should. After opening the door, the deputy requested the man to get out of the car. He refused and had to be physically removed from the vehicle. A warrant for obstruction was placed against the driver.
Theft by Taking
A woman at a Sinclair Marina Road residence reported the theft of her lawn mower occurring sometime before June 8. She told the deputy that upon returning home, she discovered that her red Troybilt push lawn mower was missing from underneath the trampoline in the backyard.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Locust Court in reference to juveniles trespassing on a woman's property. Upon arrival, he spoke with the owner of the property who said she had been having problems with the neighborhood kids trespassing in her pool. She informed the deputy that she purchased a no trespassing sign and placed it on her property. On June 7 at about 6:45 p.m., she noticed that the sign was missing and a letter addressed to her was stuck under the post where the sign once was. She was advised by the landlord to document the incident with law enforcement and to speak with the juveniles about the missing sign and trespassing issue.
