MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. Criminal Damage to Property
A woman at a North Jefferson Street address reported damage to her vehicle by an unknown person sometime before July 2. According to the complainant, she parked her black 2006 Nissan Xterra at her apartment around 3 a.m. The next day she discovered that the tires had been slashed.
Deputies were dispatched to a Black Springs Road address July 5 in reference to a pit bull. The complainant told deputies that his neighbor's pit bull had come onto his property and was acting very aggressively. He added that the dog charged toward him. Because of his behavior, the man shot the dog with his shotgun. Animal control took custody of the dog who sustained a minor injury to its front paw.
Theft by Taking
A deputy was called to a home in the 300 block of Harrisburg Road July 4 in reference to stolen items. Upon arrival he met with the complainant who told him that someone had taken several items out of her storage shed along with two grills from her carport. The deputy observed that the lock on the tool shed had been forced open with some sort of prying tool.
Deputies were dispatched to a Presswood Street residence July 5 in reference to a burglary. The owner told deputies that when she returned from work around 1 a.m. she noticed that her front door was open and items had been thrown around. An RCA brand DVD player and approximately 20 DVDs were reported missing.
