MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Entering Auto

A man at a Horace Veal Road address reported the theft of money from his vehicle by an unknown person sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. July 21. According to the man, when he and his family went out to his car to leave for church, he noticed that his wallet was opened on the front seat. $82 was reported missing from the wallet.  

Criminal Trespass

Deputies were dispatched to a South Jefferson Street location July 20 in reference to criminal trespass. The complainant stated that when he returned to his residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. he noticed glass lying on the ground at the back of the home where his sliding doors were located. He also discovered that a rear bedroom window had been knocked out.

Criminal Damage to Property

Deputies were dispatched to a Harrisburg Road residence July 22 in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated that when his nephew became upset with him he began causing damage to his home. He reported that the nephew kicked a fence post and a plant on the property.

Fraud-Financial Transaction

Deputies were dispatched to an O’Connor Drive address July 22 in reference to a complaint of credit card fraud. Upon arrival, they met with the complainant who stated that between July 15 and July 16, an unknown person had used her Chase credit card in Troy, Sterling Heights, & Warren Mich. Charges totaling $588.83 were charged against the cardholder’s account.

Milledgeville Police Department

Burglary

Officers responded to a burglary in progress call from a Barrows Ferry Road business July 23. Upon arrival, they made contact with the complainant who stated that when she entered the office two males were seen walking out. She also informed police that there was a struggle, and the two men were able to run away. No items were reported missing from the office.  

Fraud-Impersonation

On July 22 a woman reported discovering fraud on her account when she attempted to apply for a car loan at her financial institution. According to the complainant, when she tried to receive a car loan, she was informed of fraudulent purchases made on her account. One was for CACH LLC for a total of $4,094.00, another for Verizon for $510 and another for an unknown company for $496.

Theft by Shoplifting

Officers were dispatched to a Walmart on North Columbia Street July 23 in reference to a shoplifting call. A Walmart loss prevention personnel reported that two males were seen with a shopping cart that was filled with stolen merchandise. The merchandise had been placed in plastic bags. The two men were seen placing the items in the cart and walking out of the store without paying.

Criminal Trespass

A man at a South Irwin Street apartment stated that someone broke into his home and damaged his clothes. On July 23, the man came home and discovered that someone broke into his residence and poured Clorox on several items of clothing.

Theft by Taking

On July 22 at approximately 10:53 p.m. a woman reported damage to her Verizon cell phone and the theft of her Galaxy cell phone by a man. She stated that she and the man gotten into an argument at her South Warren Street apartment. He then took the Verizon phone and placed it in water. She said that he left the residence with her Galaxy phone and refuses to return it.
