MILLEDGEVILLE — DUI-alcohol

While patrolling the area of Hancock and Jefferson streets July 13 a deputy observed a vehicle traveling after dark without its headlights on. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the officer noticed that the driver appeared disoriented. After performing a field sobriety test, the driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for headlight requirement after dark.

Battery

A man reported being attacked by an unknown man around 10:15 p.m. July 15 at an unknown location. He told deputies that he was on his way to a party he was invited to on the south side of town down below the SoLo station, but was having a hard time remembering how to get to the house. He asked a woman for directions and an unknown man came up behind him and attacked him. The man was treated for a laceration to the left eye area of his face and a swollen nose.

Theft by Taking

A man at a Gordon Highway address reported the theft of a lawnmower sometime between July 12 and July 13. He stated that he noticed his Snapper Comet riding lawnmower was missing when he went to check on his beehives in the backyard.

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to a Highway Construction Zone on Stembridge Road July 15 in reference to a theft. A construction worker reported that an unknown person took two batteries from a Caterpillar 330 and cut the battery cables in order to remove them.

Criminal Damage to Property

Deputies were dispatched to a Scott Hill Street address at approximately 4:12 p.m. July 14 in reference to damage to property. Upon arrival, they met with the owner of the vehicle who reported damage to his car by an unknown person. The deputies observed deep scratches to the hood, trunk and full driver's side of the vehicle as well as a broken side mirror and rear vent window.

Fraud

On July 9 a woman received a bill from Verizon Wireless for $209.81 for three active phone numbers. She received another bill July 15 for a total of $1,093.40 for the phones and wireless purchases. The woman called a rep from Verizon and informed them that she did not have an account with the company and that her name was spelled wrong on the bill.
