MILLEDGEVILLE — Burglary

Deputies were dispatched to a Medlin Road address July 8 in reference to a burglary. According to the neighbor, when she went next door to check on the residence, she discovered a window pane on the back door had been broken and the door was unlocked. Upon contacting the owners of the residence, he notified officers that the only thing of value in the home was a shotgun that he kept in the master bedroom closet. When deputies searched the home, they discovered that the shotgun was missing.

Public Indecency

Deputies were dispatched to an Orchard Hill Road business July 9 in reference to a female urinating at the location. The employee said when he noticed the female he asked her if she needed any help. The female proceeded to start crying, dropped her pants, and began urinating on the office floor. She then ran out of the office.  

Theft by Taking

The program manager of a group home on Swint Avenue reported the theft of $50 from four individuals living in the home. On July 8, the man noticed that the money that he put in a locked file cabinet was missing. The only people in the group home that have access to the file cabinet are the employees.

Fraud

A woman reported fraudulent purchases on her bank account by an unknown person. She was contacted by Verizon Wireless on July 8 about a bill for $579.23 for five cell phones that had been purchased in her name. She told the representative that she had not purchased any merchandise from Verizon.   

Theft by Taking

A woman at a Mill Way apartment reported the theft of her satellite dish. According to the complainant, she left her residence the morning of July 8 and returned around 2 p.m. Upon returning, she discovered that her television had no reception. When she went outside to see if any debris was blocking the signal, she noticed that the dish was gone.

Burglary

Officers were dispatched to a Staley Avenue address July 8 in reference to a burglary in progress. The woman told dispatch that she fell asleep on the couch. When she woke up she noticed that the door leading to the hall and bedrooms was opened. She jumped up off the couch to try and run toward the kitchen area, but an unknown male caught her. He then punched her on the right side of her face, knocking her to the floor. The woman’s jewelry box and purse were reported missing from the home.
