MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Driving While License Suspended

While attempting to serve a warrant at a Linton Road address July 2, a deputy observed a car stop in front of the driveway with its blinker on, then pulling away and accelerating past the residence at a fast pace. A traffic stop was initiated on Pine Drive. The driver was issued a citation for driving while license suspended and a citation for expired registration.

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to an Old Monticello Road address June 29 in reference to several complaints that several subjects may be taking advantage of an elderly man at the residence. While on scene the man told deputies that there were two females that visit him frequently, asking for money. He did not know the names of the women.

Criminal Damage to Property

A woman reported damage to her vehicle July 1 at a Shana Drive location. The woman stated that her car had been egged. She believes her neighbor’s son was responsible for the damage.

Burglary

At approximately 11:15 p.m. July 2, officers met with a woman at an Anthony Way apartment in reference to a burglary. She stated that when she returned to her residence she noticed that the screen had been removed from the window of the back left bedroom and there was a large hole in the glass. No items were reported missing.

n Theft by Taking

A woman reported the theft of her vehicle July 3 from a North Columbia Street parking lot. She stated that while she was inside an auto parts store working, her boyfriend sat in the car in the parking lot, waiting on a ride. His ride never showed up and he wanted to use her car. He was instructed to pick her up from work when he was done with the vehicle but he never showed back up.
