MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Driving While Unlicensed

A man was charged with driving while unlicensed following a traffic stop around 2:30 p.m. July 14. While patrolling the area of Elbert Street and Vinson Highway, a deputy observed a vehicle pull out of the parking lot of a gas station and stop in the middle of the roadway. The driver also failed to dim his headlights when passing the officer on Elbert Street. Upon initiating a traffic stop, dispatch informed the deputy that the driver was unlicensed with a license denial date in January.

Theft by taking

Deputies were dispatched to a Little Road address around 4:21 p.m. July 18 in reference to the theft of a mailbox. Upon arrival, they made contact with the complainant who stated that around 10 a.m. July 17 he noticed that his mailbox was missing from his property. The mailbox, along with the wooden post it was attached to, was missing.

Burglary

While on patrol in the area of Allen Memorial Drive July 18, a deputy observed an unsecured door at a local fish market. Upon further investigation, the deputy discovered that the door was open and hanging off of the hinges. After securing the scene, the owner was contacted about the burglary. Upon inspection, the owner reported that approximately $30 in change was missing from the cash register.  

Milledgeville Police Department

Burglary

Officers were dispatched to a Moore Street address at approximately 8:51 p.m. July 17 in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that he was watching his neighbor's home and noticed an unknown male running from the house. No items were reported missing from the residence.

Firing Weapon

On July 18 officers responded to a call at Riverbend Apartments in reference to shots being fired. The officers located two 9mm shell casings on the ground. Several residents in the area reported they did not see who discharged the weapon. No injuries were reported.

Theft by Taking

Officers were dispatched to a Lake Drive residence at approximately 6:35 p.m. July 18 in reference to stolen mail. The complainant stated that she was expecting a package of DVDs from Amazon to be delivered to her home. The post office informed the woman that the package had been delivered and was left in front of her door.
