Theft by Taking
Deputies went to a Misty Lane residence April 14 around 2 p.m. in response to a report of a stolen vehicle. Once at the address, a man told the deputy that when he and his wife arrived home at midnight the previous day they parked their car and went to bed. The next day they noticed that their black Toyota 4-Runner was not in the parking spot where they left it. A search for the car was conducted in the surrounding area. Later that afternoon, the apartment manager informed the couple that the vehicle was towed due to being parked in a handicap parking spot.
Driving While License Suspended
While on patrol along Highway 29 April 13 a deputy noticed a silver Hyundai traveling the wrong way on the Fall Line Freeway's exit ramp. He followed the car and stopped the vehicle once inside Baldwin County. The driver told the deputy that he was trying to get to Gordon from Macon and agreed to drive his friend's car back home for him because the friend was intoxicated. After checking the driver's license it was revealed that the license had been suspended since 2009.
Hit and Run
A deputy was dispatched to a Thomas Street residence April 12 in reference to an accident. When arriving, the deputy was notified by a tow truck driver that a black Honda had just hit a house and that the driver was attempting to leave before law enforcement arrived. The deputy found the vehicle driving down Park Avenue. After pulling the car over, it was discovered that the vehicle was listed as missing or stolen. The car was turned over to Central Georgia Towing and the victim was notified of her car being recovered in a hit and run accident.
