MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Theft by Shoplifting

Deputies were dispatched to Dollar General on Sparta Highway April 8 in reference to the theft of women's underwear by a male. Upon arrival the store clerk informed deputies that the man was still inside the store and was seen placing several pairs of underwear inside his clothes. When entering the store, the deputies observed the man placing a pair of women's underwear into his left jacket pocket.

Theft by Taking

The owner of a Frazer Drive residence reported the theft of stolen furniture sometime between March 19 and April 6. When going to inspect the property, the woman noticed that a Lanier lounge chair and a front porch wooden rocking chair were missing. The owner suspects the previous owners who were evicted March 19 may be responsible for the theft.

Burglary

A man at a Sparta Highway address reported the theft of a mower from his residence April 8 around 9:21 a.m. He told the deputy that he noticed his Craftsman self-propelled push mower was stolen from inside his garage. The garage door was left unlocked.

Criminal Trespass

A deputy was dispatched to a Mount Pleasant Church Road address April 8 in reference to a trespassing incident. A man who had previously received a trespass notice on March 17 was seen at the residence. When arriving at the home, the deputy noticed the man playing basketball in the driveway. The owner of the residence told the deputy that the man was asked to leave the home, but he refused.

Theft by Taking

A man at an Old Monticello Road address reported the theft of a tractor April 9 at about 11 a.m. He told the deputy that the last time he saw the tractor was April 6 around noon. When he went to retrieve the tractor from storage he discovered that it was missing.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported the theft of a camera from her Lawrence Road home sometime before April 9. She told the deputy that she noticed her camera was missing from her dresser in her bedroom around 11:30 a.m. The last time she saw it was March 30. She said she believes the camera may be at a pawn shop in Jones County. Information about the camera was entered into the system and all pawn shops in and around Baldwin County were contacted.
