MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Milledgeville Police Department

Theft by Shoplifting

A business on North Columbia Street reported Jan. 8 that two individuals hid merchandise in a woman's purse and attempted to leave the store without paying. Both individuals was detained and then arrested, charged with theft by shoplifting.

Criminal Trespass

A Glenhaven Drive homeowner reported Jan. 8 that the window to her dining room was open and the rear door unlocked when she arrived home. Nothing was reported out of place or missing at the home.

Theft by Shoplifting

An individual fled a North Columbia Street business Jan. 8 after being confronted about shoplifting. He was identified by loss prevention personnel and contacted by the MPD in response to the theft. He later went to the police department for questioning and was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting.

Aggravated Assault

A family in a residence on Twin Pines Road reported Jan. 8 there were shots fired at their home. Officers located a bullet in the home as well as a hole in the wall. Another resident in the neighborhood reported hearing three shots fired.

Battery

An individual was arrested for two counts of battery after an altercation at a downtown restaurant Jan. 9.

Entering Auto

A car owner reported Jan. 9 that his vehicle had been entered while it was parked at Vinson Highway. The driver’s side window had been broken out, the back seat pulled forward and audio equipment stolen.
