MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Milledgeville Police Department
A man was arrested for driving under the influence after a deputy spotted him asleep in his vehicle on Coombs Avenue around 3 a.m. Oct. 14.
— Entering Auto
A woman was contacted by a GMC police officer around 9:50 p.m. Oct. 15 and informed that the side window of her vehicle was broken. Her car was parked on South Jefferson Street while she was visiting her friends. No items were reported missing from the car.
— Entering Auto
A woman reported the right side door window of her vehicle was broken into as it was parked at a West Montgomery Street address Oct. 15. Stereo equipment and an outdoor hammock were reported missing from the car.
— Vandalism to a Place of Worship
Police responded to a report of suspicious activity at a West Franklin Street church around 3 a.m. Oct. 16. Officers checked the location of the church and the metal building south of the main building. They discovered black spray paint graffiti on the southern side of the building.
— Underage Possession
Two men were arrested following a traffic stop where the driver and passenger were seen switching seats after stopping on West Hancock Street around 12:25 a.m. Oct. 15. The man who had been a passenger was charged with no driver’s license and open container and the other man was charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive and possession of alcohol by a person under 21.
— Theft by Taking
A woman reported that someone entered her Elis Street home and took prescription medication and liquid cold medicine sometime between 4 and 10 p.m. Oct. 16.
