Theft by Taking
Police were dispatched to a North Columbia Street department store in reference to the theft of a purse June 7. A woman told the officers that while she was shopping in the grocery section of the store, she bent down to pick up a container of salt that she knocked down from the shelf. When she looked into her shopping cart she noticed that her purse was no longer there.
Criminal Damage to Property
An employee of a North Columbia Street business reported damage to the front door of the establishment occurring sometime before June 8. He told the officer that when coming to work, he and two other employees noticed that the door to the front of the building was hard to open. Upon further inspection they discovered marks on the door as if someone tried to force the door open.
