MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. Financial Transaction Card Fraud
Officers were called to a home in the 1000 block of W. Thomas St. May 16 in reference to stolen money from an EBT card. A woman told the officers that her mother stole money off their father's EBT card. She said that her brother came to her residence asking if she wanted to buy the card. She then went to her father's house to check on his card. Her father usually receives $102 on the card, but after checking the balance her father discovered that he only had $14 remaining.
Criminal Damage to Property
A man at a River Ridge Road address reported damage to his 2002 Honda Civic sometime before May 17. He told the officer upon returning home he discovered a dent on the driver’s side door of the car. The officer observed a dent on the driver’s side door just below the window and fresh paint scratches on the roof of the vehicle. He also told the officer that it appeared as if the damage was caused with a screwdriver.
Theft by Taking
Officers reported to a North Columbia Street hotel May 17 in reference to missing items from the room. A woman told officers that she and her husband had stayed in the same room that they stayed in the night before after buying some items from Wal-Mart. They purchased several shirts and underwear, toothpaste, soap and deodorant. When returning to the room from work, they noticed that the items were missing.
