MILLEDGEVILLE — Forgery

While out on patrol, a deputy was dispatched to a Robins Road address May 17 in reference to a vehicle taken without permission. A woman stated that the vehicle in question was taken by her ex-son-in-law. She also informed the officer that the title to the vehicle was missing. She suspects that the ex-son-in-law forged her late husband’s signature in order to have the vehicle title registered in his name.

Disorderly Conduct

Deputies were dispatched to an Ivey Drive trailer park May 20 in reference to an altercation between two women. A woman reported entering the trailer park but she was blocked in by another vehicle in the driveway. The driver and the woman exchanged words, then she drove off to her friend’s home. A short time later, the same vehicle drove up to the woman at an accelerated speed then stopped abruptly, nearly striking her juvenile daughter.

Firearm Possession by Convicted Felon

While patrolling the area of Ga. Highway 24 East May 14, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling west at a high rate of speed. After initiating a traffic stop, the car pulled to the shoulder near the intersection of Ga. Highway 24 and Stembridge Road. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The officer asked the driver if there was anything he should know. She admitted to having some marijuana in a cigar wrapper and a pistol in her pocketbook. Dispatch informed the deputy that the driver was also a convicted felon. A firearm was removed from her purse and warrants were secured against the driver, along with traffic citations.

Possession of Marijuana

On May 15 a sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Ivey Weaver Road for failure to stop completely at the stop sign at the intersection of River Ridge and Ivey Weaver Road. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed that the passenger appeared nervous and was talking very quickly. When a search was conducted on the vehicle, the deputy found what appeared to be marijuana residue on the passenger side seat and a plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance.
