Crime Digest

MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

 



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Criminal Trespass

A car owner reported Nov. 26 that the side of her vehicle had been scratched with a knife.

Burglary

It was reported Dec. 14 that several items were stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence on Highway 49 West, including: a laptop, several cell phones and a purse.

Criminal Trespass

A church located on Vinson Highway reported Dec. 14 that someone had attempted to gain entry into the church. Officers observed pry marks on a door frame.

Burglary

A business owner on Vinson Highway reported Dec. 14 that cash had been stolen from the cash drawer of her business.

Burglary

A homeowner on Pebble Hill Road reported Dec. 14 that approximately $325 in cash and a pair of tennis shoes had been stolen from his residence.

Burglary

An resident of Irwinton Road reported a burglary Dec. 15. He was inside the residence at the time and reported that an XBox 360 was taken.

 



Milledgeville Police Department

Theft by Taking

A business on North Columbia Street reported Dec. 16 that a man stating he wanted to apply for a job attempted to steal cash from the employee tip jar.

Theft by Shoplifting

Loss prevention associates at Walmart reported Dec. 16 that a woman attempted to shoplift several clothing and food items. The woman was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting.

Burglary

A resident of North Wayne Street reported Dec. 16 that a 55-inch flat screen television had been stolen from her home along with a 32-inch flat screen television and an XBox 360.

Theft by Taking

An employee of Central State Hospital reported Dec. 16 that approximately $2,500 worth of tools were stolen from his work-issued vehicle while it was parked behind the CSH police department.
