MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. Milledgeville Police Department
A property owner on West McIntosh Street reported Nov. 4 that the glass of the front door of the business had been knocked out.
Officers reported to East Camden Street Nov. 4 where a woman reported that her front door had been forced open and her son’s laptop had been stolen.
A man reported Nov. 4 that while his vehicle was parked over the weekend at a business on North Elbert Street his two right side tires were cut.
A River Ridge Road homeowner contacted the police after an individual approached her from the bushes and pointed an unknown object at her. The individual opened her car door, grabbed her pocketbook and ran away.
Fleeing/Attempt to Elude
Officers noticed an individual driving at a high rate of speed near the Oconee River Greenway entrance Nov. 4 and motioned for him to pull over. When officers approached him he turned the vehicle around and sped away. Officers later found the individual’s car where it had slid off the road. The driver was fleeing the scene on foot and officers had to chase him to apprehend him. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, fleeing/attempting to elude, driving while license suspended, open container in vehicle, hit and run; duty of drive and seatbelt violations.
Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement
Officers responded to a call about noise at the back of a residence on West Thomas Court Nov. 4. While searching the area officers noticed two individuals running from behind the homes. Officers announced themselves and the individuals continued to run. The two men finally obeyed when they were told to get on the ground. Both men were arrested and charged with obstruction of law enforcement.
