MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County

Sheriff’s Office

 Criminal use of article with altered ID mark

Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 80 in a 55 mph zone, and during the stop officers noticed suspicious activity. After being given permission to search the vehicle officers found a loaded semi-automatic 9mm with the serial numbers scratched off. The owner of the weapon was taken into custody and charged with use of an article with altered identification mark.

Mail fraud

An individual reported Oct. 5 that she had received what she believed to be falsified money orders from a secret shopper organization.

Possession of methamphetamine

Officers initiated a traffic stop Oct. 7 on Ga. Highway 22 East. The driver of the vehicle was wanted for an active warrant. During the stop the driver admitted to being in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. The pipe tested positive for contraband. She was taken into custody and charged with active probation violation warrant and possession of methamphetamine.

Entering auto

It was reported Oct. 10 that two vehicles parked on White Oak Lane were entered unlawfully. A wallet was stolen from each vehicle, and a key chain was stolen from one of the vehicles.

A vehicle on Allenwood Circle was entered Oct. 10 in an attempt to steal the radio.

Theft by taking

A resident of Meadow Road reported the theft of a ring from her home Oct. 10.

Smash-and-grab burglary

Friendly Gus on Ga. Highway 49 West reported a burglary Oct. 10. The suspects stole cigarettes.

Reckless conduct

Shots were reported fired on Merry Drive Oct. 10. Shell casings were found at the location.

Milledgeville Police Department

Disorderly conduct

An individual was reported running in and around vehicles in a parking lot on North Lincoln Street. The individual was cited with disorderly conduct and informed that if he trespassed again he would be charged.

Fraud

A man reported Oct. 11 that he received a letter from Capital One credit card company advising him that a possibly fraudulent account had been created in his name.

Theft by taking

A resident of Merry Lane reported Oct. 11 the theft of a Troy Built weed eater and a Craftsman chainsaw.
