MILLEDGEVILLE — Fleeing/Attempting to Elude

Around 2:36 p.m. April 8 an officer observed a vehicle traveling north on Wayne Street with a female driver not wearing her seat belt. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop at the intersection of North Wayne and Montgomery streets. The car accelerated and refused to stop. Upon reaching the intersection of W. Montgomery and N. Wilkinson streets, the vehicle failed to yield to northbound traffic turning right onto Wilkinson. Due to the time of day and the accelerated speed of the vehicle, the officer did not continue with the pursuit.

Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart loss prevention employee reported the theft of merchandise by four females April 6. The women were seen selecting various store items and concealing them in a purse.

Entering Auto

Officers were dispatched to a  West Franklin Street residence at approximately 5:45 p.m. April 9 in reference to an entering auto call. The owner of the vehicle reported that on April 6 between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. someone attempted to break into his truck. It appeared that a screwdriver was used to open the passenger’s side door. No items were reported missing from the vehicle.

Criminal Damage to Property

A man reported damage to the hood of his vehicle April 6. Upon arrival, officers noticed several visible dents on the hood and what appeared to be spit. Photographs were taken of the damage.

Fraud-Impersonation

A woman reported that someone charged $723.68 to her Verizon Wireless account. She noticed that her bill was considerably higher than usual  and called Verizon to inquire about the amount. A Verizon Wireless representative informed her that an unknown man charged two new phones to her account.
