MILLEDGEVILLE — Burglary

Deputies were dispatched to an Allen Memorial Drive business June 25 in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that when he came to work he noticed that the side door to the business was open. The owner was notified and upon arrival noticed that there was about $60 in cash taken out of the register. Deputies did not observe any damage to the register but the steel door to the business was bent and the molding was broken off the door frame.

Theft by Shoplifting

A store manager at a North Columbia Street business reported the theft of merchandise by two of his employees sometime between June 22 and June 25. The two employees were seen on the store surveillance camera taking multiple items. One employee was working the cash register and the other was coming through the line as a customer. The clerk was seen on camera not scanning all of the items in the cart.

Criminal Damage to Property

Deputies were dispatched to a Harrisburg Road group home at approximately 4:24 p.m. June 24 in reference to a man breaking a window. The man told the staff at the group home that if they didn’t fix the van he was going to break a window. He was informed that if he did he would go to jail. He said that he’d rather go to jail than remain at the group home. The man told deputies that the reason he broke the window was because he was bored and tired of not going anywhere.

Theft of Service

An employee of the city water department reported the theft of services at a Lockwood Street residence. The man stated that he received a work order to disconnect the water at the address for nonpayment. The meter was taken from the home around 10:46 a.m. June 12. On June 25, the employee discovered that the water had been reconnected at the address using a meter that was not assigned by the water department.

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to a Little Road address in reference to the theft of a dirt bike. On June 25 around 8:11 p.m. a woman reported that a Suzuki dirt bike was stolen from her front porch. The owner spoke with the neighbors and they reported that they had not heard the dirt bike crank up all day.
