MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

Theft by Taking

A business on North Columbia Street reported Jan. 24 that an employee was taking money from the safe and placing IOUs in the stead of the cash he took. The man was escorted from the property by police but no charges were filed.

Theft by Taking

A man reported Jan, 24 that while parking a year model 1998 vehicle on South Warren Street with the keys inside, it was stolen. The vehicle was later located on North Lincoln Street with one of the door handles broken.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported Jan. 25 that her boyfriend had stolen her vehicle. The individual was confirmed by officers to already have six active warrants in his name. When he returned the vehicle to his girlfriend’s residence officers located him after he fell through the ceiling but he was able to flee on foot. Additional warrants have been taken out in his name including theft by taking, criminal damage to property, obstruction of an officer and cruelty to children in the second degree.

Theft by Taking

A repair shop on North Wayne Street reported Jan. 25 that someone entered the property and siphoned gasoline from a vehicle and cut out a catalytic converter from a second vehicle.

Criminal Damage to Property

A car owner reported Jan. 25 that while her vehicle was parked on Grandview Drive it was scratched multiple times.

Disorderly Conduct

A man was arrested Jan. 26 and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after becoming belligerent at a residence and damaging a great deal of property inside the home. When officers arrived he continued to be very upset and disorderly.

Criminal Trespass

A car owner reported Jan. 26 that someone had struck her vehicle while it was parked, damaging the driver’s side rear bumper and tail light.
