Driving While Unlicensed

While patrolling the area of Swint Avenue Aug. 6, a deputy observed a vehicle drive by playing loud music. When attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Horne Avenue the driver exited the vehicle and tried to walk into the house. The deputy stopped the man before he entered and questioned him as to why he was trying to go into the house so quickly. The driver admitted to not having a valid driver’s licenses.

Theft of Service

An investigator for Charter Cable reported the theft of cable service by a man at a Lata Terrace address. The investigator stated that Charter disconnected the cable on June 20. Upon returning Aug. 6 he discovered the cable wire was stripped and jammed into the splitter on the power pole.

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to an Irwinton Road pawn shop Aug. 6 in reference to a stolen car battery. An employee at the pawn shop stated that a customer attempted to start her car to leave but it would not start. Upon further investigation she realized that the battery was missing. Upon checking the camera system they discovered that someone broke into the woman’s car and took her car battery and some other miscellaneous items.

Dog at Large

A woman at a Dunlap Road address reported a dog at-large near her residence. According to the woman, when she was bringing her child to the bus stop around 7:30 a.m. Aug. 6, a large black dog came from her neighbor’s yard and charged at them aggressively. The neighbor came outside and called the dog back into the yard. The dog owner admitted to police and animal control that she let her dog out the morning of the incident without a leash so that he could use the bathroom and that he did run into the complainant’s yard.
