MILLEDGEVILLE — Financial Transaction-Fraud

A man at an Old Monticello Road address reported withdrawal of funds from his credit card Aug. 30. According to the complainant, $384 was taken from his credit card by a company posing as Microsoft tech support. In an attempt to remove a virus from his computer, the representative stated that he must provide them with his credit card number and his pin to pay for the service. The man discovered that someone not affiliated with Microsoft removed the money from his account instead.

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to a Stuart Circle address Sept. 2 in reference to the theft of shoes. The complainant stated that his stepson stole a pair of shoes from him at an earlier date. The stepson asked if he could borrow the shoes and the complainant said no. The following day, the shoes were missing from the residence.

Battery

A man at a North Main Street address reported that he had been attacked by another man during an altercation at a friend’s house Sept. 6. Upon arrival, deputies observed what appeared to be blood on the complainant’s face, lips, and legs. The men were hanging out together drinking when a physical altercation ensued between the two subjects.  

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to an Irwinton Road residence Sept. 5 in reference to a stolen AC unit. The complainant stated that when her maintenance man went to her home to work, he discovered that her unit was missing. The last time she saw it was the night of Sept. 4.  

Burglary

Deputies were dispatched to a Shiloh Avenue residence Sept. 4 in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that her kitchen window was broken and someone had opened her back door. Thirty dollars in loose change was reported missing from her residence.

Criminal Damage to Property

A woman at a Harrisburg Road address reported damage to her vehicle sometime during Sept. 5. According to the complainant, she discovered that someone keyed her car during the night. The deputy who arrived on scene observed scratches on the woman’s car that spelled out a derogatory name.
