MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

— Theft by Taking

A man at a Horace Veal Road address reported that his car had been taken without permission sometime before 1:58 p.m. Oct. 20. He said that he left the keys in the ignition and went inside to have lunch and when he returned the car was gone.

— Theft by Taking

A woman reported that a houseguest likely took her cell phone from her during her stay at her Belfair Drive apartment Oct. 21.

— Driving While Unlicensed

A man was arrested for driving while unlicensed on Sparta Highway around 1:40 a.m. Oct. 19.

Milledgeville Police Department

— Burglary

A man reported a break-in at a West McIntosh Street home and the theft of a Barbie Power wheels car, a 32-inch plasma TV and an iPad sometime between Oct. 19 and 21.

— Marijuana Possession

A man was arrested and charged with marijuana possession following a traffic stop on Highway 49 for speeding around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 19.

— Theft by Shoplifting

A store clerk at a North Jefferson street convenience store reported the theft of three bags of chips and a pack of beef jerky by a woman around 4:39 p.m. Oct. 19.

— Theft by Shoplifting

A manager at a North Columbia Street grocery store reported the theft of snack cakes by a juvenile Oct. 22. The young man removed a box of snack cakes from a display and took them into the restroom where he and two other juveniles consumed them without paying. The two other juveniles fled the scene.  

— Theft by Taking

A man reported the theft of his cell phone and charger from his Old Monticello Road residence, possibly by a family member who visited earlier in the day of Oct. 19.
