MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Criminal Damage to Property

An individual reported Jan. 1 that someone had damaged his vehicle by scratching the paint.

Theft by Taking

An individual reported Jan. 1 that after giving a ride to an acquaintance a pistol was missing from side his vehicle.

n Deposit Account Fraud

A woman reported Jan. 2 that after placing an ad on craigslist.com she was defrauded of several thousand dollars. The individual that responded to her ad sent her checks more than the request price and asked her to send the remaining balance to an address located in Atlanta. She was later informed by the pawn shop she had utilized to cash the checks that each of them had bounced and she would need to pay the sum.

Affray

A fight between two individuals was reported at a Nelson Road residence Jan. 1. Neither party was arrested.

Theft by Taking

A man reported Jan. 2 that a woman stole $80 in cash from his jacket after he allowed her to sleep in his home.

Milledgeville Police Department

Burglary

An individual reported that his laptop was stolen from his hotel room Dec. 28.

Theft by Taking

An individual reported that someone stole $20 from him along with a GPS device while he was on West Hancock Street.

Criminal Trespass

A homeowner reported Dec. 30 that his West Greene Street residence was vandalized when an unknown individual broke the glass from the window pane in the front door.

Theft by Taking

A vehicle owner reported Dec. 28 that his truck’s tag was stolen while it was parked on North Wayne Street.

Criminal Trespass

A woman reported Dec. 28 that a man she had trespassed from her home entered it. When informed she was contacting the police he fled.
