MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Driving Under the Influence

Officers approached a vehicle Dec. 16 after the driver saw the patrol vehicle, turned off the car’s headlights and pulled over on the side of the road. The MPD officer detected the smell of alcohol, and when asked, the driver consented to a breathalyzer, which came back over the legal limit. A knife was visible in the passenger’s seat. The vehicle was searched and a second knife was located. The driver was charged with driving under the influence while under 21, license not on person, violation of condition of permit and underage permit.

Burglary

A business located on South Wayne Street reported a burglary Dec. 17. Copper had been stripped from inside the building.

Fraud

A title loan business reported Dec. 17 that an individual took out a loan, but when an employee went to have the title changed she was informed that the vehicle’s title had been changed recently. The business then learned that the individual had already taken a title loan out on the vehicle using a business in Macon.
