MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Burglary


Deputies were dispatched to a Shana Drive address May 24 in reference to a burglary. The owner told officers that while he was at a racetrack in Eatonton, he kept receiving phone calls from a man he knows inquiring about how long he would be out and when he would return to the residence. When he got home, he discovered a Smith and Wesson handgun and $2,000 in cash missing from under the mattress in his bedroom.

Theft by Taking

Deputies were dispatched to a Pettigrew Road address May 22 in reference to a theft. A man told officers that two chainsaws were taken from his shed sometime before May 23. Both were Portland chainsaws but he informed officers that it was possible that the owner of one of the chainsaws could have come by and picked his up.

Milledgeville Police Department

Burglary


Officers were dispatched to a Pine Avenue address around 4:05 p.m. May 24 in reference to a burglary. A woman told officers that she uses the vacant house to store some of her items but on this date she discovered that the side door entry was broken open. A 15-piece set of cooking pots, Corelle dinner plates, and a bicycle was reported missing from the residence.

Theft by Taking

A woman at a N. Pickens Street address reported the theft of a bicycle tire May 25. The woman stated that when she returned home from work she discovered a wheel missing from her son’s bicycle and that she knows the juvenile who took it.

Criminal Damage to Property

Officers were dispatched to a North Columbia Street restaurant May 24 in reference to a call of juveniles throwing rocks at customers’ vehicles while in the drive-thru. Upon arrival, the officers met with the manager of the restaurant who reported that a witness made a complaint about three juveniles behind a location in the woods near the restaurant throwing rocks at vehicles. The witness stated that he heard several objects hitting his car as it sat in line at the drive-thru.

Criminal Trespass

The owner of a Grandview Drive rental property discovered that unknown person(s) had trespassed on the property. The man went to do work on the property and stated that the home has been vacant for a while. When he arrived, he noticed that the back door had been broken open and there was furniture re-arranged in the home. There was also an unknown vehicle parked in the backyard of the residence.
