MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An "arrest" does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Milledgeville Police Department

Burglary

Officers responded to an apartment complex on Mill Way Dec. 17 after a call was made about a prowler. One of the residences had been entered and the renter was contacted. A rocking horse was stolen as well as a small table, a sewing machine and a VHS/DVD player.

Aggravated Assault

A resident of West Thomas Circle reported Dec. 17 that shots had been fired into his home where he, his wife and children were present. Officers located a bullet inside the home and a gin bottle in the homeÕs vicinity.

Criminal Trespass

An apartment renter reported Dec. 13 that his former roommate had ripped the door off its frame during a conversation about the apartment's lease.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported Dec. 15 that while at a business on North Columbia Street that her cell phone had been stolen and that the individual in possession of her phone used it to send vulgar text messages to several people.

Theft by Shoplifting

Walmart loss prevention personnel reported Dec. 14 that a man fled on foot after being confronted about shoplifting. After being identified and contacted by the police he turned himself. He received a citation for theft by shoplifting.

Simple Battery

An individual reported Dec. 15 that bouncers had roughly handled her when they physically removed her from a business. She stated that she was thrown against a brick wall.
