The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department

— Fraud, financial identity

A woman reported Monday that someone filed state taxes with her identity in 2004 and 2005. She was notified of the filing by the Georgia Department of Revenue when she attempted to collect her refund for the past year.

— Entering auto

A man reported that someone entered his vehicle and removed a 9 mm Hi-Point semi-automatic pistol sometime late last week while the car was parked at a home on Minor Road.

— Burglary

Someone broke into several storage buildings at a storage lot on Log Cabin Road over the weekend. One woman reported the theft of a microwave oven, a Sony Surround Sound system, a toaster and dishes from her unit.

— Theft by taking

A woman reported that while she was at the hospital with her son, she called an aunt to assist her in going by her residence to get her son’s medication. The door was locked, so she told her aunt where the key was located as well as the location of the key to the lock box containing the medicine and $200 cash. When she arrived home, she found her aunt still in her home acting nervous. The aunt said she couldn’t find the key to the lock box and was acting nervous, so she left. The woman, unable to locate the key, pried the box open to get the medication and noticed that the money was missing. She has since been unable to reach her aunt by telephone.
