Milledgeville Police Department

— Forced entry

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a golf course on Highway 22 just after midnight Monday where they discovered a rear door to a building had been kicked in, according to a police report. The building was secured and nothing initially appeared to be missing, according to the report.

— Forced entry

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a business in the 1200 block of North Columbia Street Tuesday around 1 a.m. where they noticed that a garage door had been pried open, according to a police report. Once a keyholder arrived, a search was conducted of the establishment and nothing appeared to be missing, according to the report.

— Shoplifting

Someone reported that a man took two cases of beer from a convenience store on Hancock Street and put them in a taxi cab without paying for them around 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police report. Once confronted by the clerk, the man returned the beer and was placed under arrest, according to the report. Freddie Jerome Brown of West McIntosh Street was placed under arrest and charged with larceny, according to the report.

— Entering auto

Someone reported that someone entered her ’95 Honda Civic through the passenger window sometime Monday night and took her pocketbook and contents including a checkbook, debit card, social security card, cell phone and $10 cash, according to a police report.

— Theft by taking

Someone reported a theft at a recycling business on Highway 49 sometime Monday night after arriving at work and discovering chains locking the front gate were broken, according to a sheriff’s report. The employee noted that four radiators were missing, and later the business owner noted a cutting torch missing from a welding gas tank according to the report.
