The Brick celebrates 20 years of good eats, company

(Continued)

MILLEDGEVILLE —

To commemorate The Brick’s 20th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 8, the business served up various food and drink specials all week, including 20 cent wings, 10 to 50 percent off all food with a spin of a wheel, and a chance to order off the original 1993 menu.

Prizes, raffle giveaways and games were also available throughout the week, including Braves Playoff tickets, a golf package, Brick koozies, bar game night with a Cornhole tournament and team trivia.

“We broke our record for the number of wings ever sold in one shift during our 20 cent wing night. We sold 6,990 wings in just a little more than five hours; it was a lot of fun,” Pendergast said. “The whole week for us has been about celebrating our customers and giving back to them. It’s our birthday, but we want to give back to the community that has given us so much.”

The restaurant decided to provide 10 percent of proceeds from Monday sales to Creekside Elementary School.

“We will present the school with $400,” Pendergast said. “This is something we want to continue with other local schools throughout this year.”

A $5 lunch special for a salad and slice of pizza is offered Friday before DJ 401K will have live music at 11 p.m. to close.

The week-long celebration will wind down Saturday with any large pizza and dozen wings special for $20. The famous unstock-the-bar party starts at 10 p.m. with $2 cover for $2 drinks all night.

“We’re primarily a pizza and sandwich shop,” Pendergast said. “Our wings have been our strong point and one of our best sellers. The Ultimate Stuffed Sticks are unique to The Brick and continually one of the top items in the restaurant. Montezuma’s Revenge and Buffalo Brick Chick sandwiches will never be removed from the menu no matter what.”
