GRITS makes move downtown

The Union-Recorder

MILLEDGEVILLE —

For nearly four years GRITS brought affordable country cooking to the south side of Milledgeville. With the closings at Central State Hospital, restaurant management made a decision to move from the Hardwick Street location.

GRITS recently merged with Chops Downtown. The down home food comes at lunch hour, while Chops provides the dinner menu.

GRITS is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, while Chops is open for dinner starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

The Chops side remains unchanged for regulars. Wednesday night is burger and a side for $5, and Thursday is all you can eat boneless wings for $6.

Friday's Chops offers a 25 percent discount for those with a college ID. Steak lovers can pay $10 for their choice of strip steak, fillet medallions or kabobs with mushrooms, peppers and onions.

A GRITS sign should be up soon at the street storefront to remind people of the two lunch and dinner dining options.

Duncan seemed pleased with the early signs.

Call (478) 452-8119 for restaurant details.
