GeorgiaBob’s brings southern goodness to Milledgeville

(Continued)

MILLEDGEVILLE —

The quality of the food at the restaurant is superb and most people are surprised that a downtown restaurant can create such rich southern home flavor. Its menu includes barbecue pulled pork, ribs, brisket, turkey, chicken, chicken salad and various sides and desserts.

“The biggest surprise to most folks is the chicken salad,” said Hornsby. “Most folks don’t expect it to taste so good.”

Hornsby has noticed tremendous growth in business since it first opened its doors in 2011. He says that the real challenge will be increasing the number of customers into the restaurant and breaking his first year’s success.

“I find it hard to believe there are still some people in Milledgeville who haven’t been by to try us out,” said Hornsby, “All they need is one taste and they’ll be hooked.”

GeorgiaBob’s traditional Southern barbecue appeals to everyone. For great food in a low-key, casual atmosphere, make sure to visit GeorgiaBob’s, located at 116 W. Hancock St. It is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (478) 295-0696.

“We would love to see everyone in the Milledgeville area come in at least once,” Hornsby said. “I think if you come and visit you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
