Sun Studios opens downtown

MILLEDGEVILLE — Brian Jones, a recent graduate of West Georgia, may be only 23, but already co-owns two businesses. He and his college roommate, William Wolf, decided to open a tanning salon in Carlton called “Carltan.” The response was overwhelming and the two decided to take the tanning salon world by storm.

Sun Studios boasts five regular beds, two turbo beds and a Turbo II bed, which has 44, 160 watt bulbs. The Turbo Two bed is a 10-minute bed, and the regular and turbo beds are 15-minute beds.

The reception from downtown businesses have been openly receptive to Sun Studios, much to Jones' delight. The store offers a wide range of tanning lotions from $15 to $60 and also offers moisturizers to prevent wrinkling. Jones would consider offering spray tans to the list of services the salon provides should his customers request the service.

Sun Studios is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The salon is closed on Sunday. Sun Studios is located at 128 S. Wayne St. and can be reached by phone at (478) 454-0112.
