Tidal Wave presents fifth charity fundraiser Friday

MILLEDGEVILLE — Vehicle owners who pull into Tidal Wave Auto Spa Friday are in for more than just a car wash. From 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. all Tidal Wave locations, including the local business on North Columbia Street, will hold their annual charity fundraising event.

Proceeds will go to benefit the Joseph Sams School for children with special needs in Fayetteville and an individual local charity.

“We decided to choose Ocmulgee CASA as our local charity to help this year,” said Milledgeville Tidal Wave Site Leader Gerald Andrews. Tidal Wave will donate 100 percent of all sales made on Friday to both charities.

“We'll have a lot going on that day to help raise money," Andrews said. "They'll be hot dogs and drinks along with Tidal Wave T-shirts for sale."

According to Andrews, the proceeds of the sales will be split between the two charities, both of which benefit the well being of children. Joseph Sams School is a private, non-profit school dedicated to the education and life skills development of children who are intellectually, physically or developmentally challenged. Ocmulgee CASA serves the deprived children of the eight-county Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit. CASA volunteers are assigned to cases of child abuse or neglect by a judge.

In addition to the money collected from sales, customers are also allowed to donate additional amounts if they choose.

"It's a very good fundraiser that we love being a part of. It brings in a lot of money into the two charities. Last year, all the Tidal Wave Auto Spas who participated in the fundraiser raised over $30,700 in charity donations alone,” Andrews said.

Tidal Wave Auto Spa is known for its fundraising efforts and its environmentally-friendly service.

"We recycle our water, making us one of the leading car washes there is,” said Andrews.
