MILLEDGEVILLE — Beautiful flowers add a level of elegance to any bride’s special day, but for brides looking for a gorgeous way to add a personal touch to a wedding or event that will last a lifetime, Brides’ Bouquets and Beyond may be the perfect solution.

Brides’ Bouquets and Beyond offers a creative alternative for brides with an unlimited spectrum of colors that live flowers cannot give. Bridal bouquets are handmade from ribbon, lace, leather, steel and even candy. The possibilities are endless.

“Paper flowers offer you a lot more flexibility with color combinations that real flowers just can’t do,” said co-owner Shannon Starley.

Starley and her father, Jeff Block, created Brides’ Bouquets and Beyond after a request was made by Block for his daughter to showcase her flower-making talent in his business — Just Paper Roses. Just Paper Roses specializes in custom-made flowers for anniversary gifts.

“The traditional material for the 13th anniversary is lace, and he asked me if I could make some lace flowers for the store,” said Starley. “After I finished he was so impressed by my work he encouraged me to branch out and start doing more with my talent.”

Starley’s talent is not limited to only bridal bouquets. She also specializes in large groom boutonnieres and corsages as well as centerpieces and favors for any special event.

“I can even use material of your choice and re-create your original live flower bouquet from your wedding,” said Starley.

Brides’ Bouquets and Beyond is tailored to the budget-conscious bride who wants a wedding along with keepsakes that will last a lifetime.

“The store has a great selection with gift ideas that are catered more toward the nostalgic bride,” she said. “Fresh flowers are nice, but they are not meant to last forever. Our flowers are made to always be a constant reminder of that special occasion.”

The grand opening of the new store was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. Starley and Block extend a warm welcome to everyone to come by the store and see the spectrum of possibilities that they offer.

Brides’ Bouquets and Beyond is located at 630 Meriwether Road, Suite H. The store is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
