Hair Studio relocates to pamper in more spacious locale

MILLEDGEVILLE — Growing up around a mother who always had a knack for all things hair, Angela Brown grew to love her mother’s passion and creative mind. A 30-year Milledgeville resident, Brown is owner and operator of her own hair salon — The Hair Studio — as an outlet for creativity.

“I love making people happy and I love to create,” Brown said Thursday while styling a long-time client.

Brown began her career in beautifying hair at Stage One in the Milledgeville Mall. After nearly 15 years, she eventually branched out on her own to open her first salon around 2003 called Cuts by Angels.

“Cuts by Angels was there for a few years, and then I opened Hair Studio on North Columbia Street next to Dollar General. We were there for six years,” she said.

Hair Studio relocated to a bigger space on Dunlap Road next to the Childcare Network in March.

“I’ve been coming here for about a year now. I like it here because they do an excellent job, and it’s just pleasant and quite here,” said Milledgeville resident Ruby Sammons, who stopped by the salon Thursday for her usual hair cut and style. “I think everybody should come here.”

Brown operates the local salon with master cosmetologists Kristin McBurney and Tina Estes to pamper customers from head to toe with a range of services at affordable prices, including cuts, styles, color, perms, foils, Keratin treatments, smooth treatments, Dreamcatchers hair extensions, updos, glimmer body art, facial waxing, pedicures and more.

“It Works Body Wraps is something new we just started. It tightens, tones and detoxes you to help slim certain body parts, like your stomach, thighs or arms,” said McBurney, who began her career specializing in cuts, color, extensions and Keratin treatments since graduating from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) in 2009 alongside Estes. “We’re a very family-oriented salon. We keep up with the fashion and new hair styles and new techniques. We care about you and making you beautiful. We appreciate customers for sticking with us and always coming back.”
