MILLEDGEVILLE — What started out as just an idea has grown into five years of outstanding service. Located at 159 Garrett Way is IT Systems, which celebrates its fifth year of dependable service and more than 4,600 computers repaired this year. IT Systems is your source for computer repair and custom build computer systems, right here in Milledgeville.

“I noticed that this type of personal service and care for computer problems was not offered locally to anyone in Milledgeville,” said owner John Moore of how and why he started the business.

As a computer tech at Georgia Military College, Moore realized the market for computer repair and custom made systems was not available locally and that many residents of Baldwin County had to go outside of the area for service. John, along with his father Douglass, decided to create a business to take the search and drive out of the equation.

“When you buy from IT Systems you get local support and not a nameless 800 number in another country,” Moore said.

Together, father and son have more than 20 years of experience in managing machines for personal use or small offices.

“During our first year we knew we were taking a chance because we didn't know if we would be able to last,” Moore said. “Word of mouth spread about our services, and now we're repairing up to 100 computers a month.”

When the store first opened it was located at 145 Garrett Way, now occupied by Murphey Insurance, but as demands for service increased, a bigger location was needed.

With Christmas around the corner, IT Systems can help put together an excellent gift. The business offers a wide selection of re-certified computers from top manufacturers such as Dell and Hewlett-Packard. IT Systems only uses the best components to build a custom system. The business has the capability to move data from an old computer to a new one for no extra charge. IT Systems also performs virus removals at a flat rate of $70.

“The motherboard, processor, memory and even the fans are hand picked for quality and reliability,” Moore said.

IT Systems has come a long way and considers it an honor to serve Milledgeville businesses and citizens.

“We are proud of our parts and services and aim to give nothing but the best to Baldwin County customers,” Moore said.

Store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Call (478) 452-0411 for more information.
