Sonrise Corner Thrift Store generates $22,000 for SCA

MILLEDGEVILLE — Sonrise Corner Thrift Store is continuing to make progress in helping fund Sinclair Christian Academy’s (SCA) expenses, raising nearly $22,000 since opening in early November last year.

As a ministry of Sinclair Baptist Church, the thrift store sells an assortment of brand-new and gently used items, ranging from household appliances, furniture, electronics and camping equipment to antiques, apparel, toys, books and knick knacks.

With the number of generous donations brought in by the community and surrounding area, SCA is hoping to move into a larger space in order to properly organize and display all donated items, provide more parking and open a small Christian bookstore.

Individuals donating items to the nonprofit business can receive a receipt to be used as a tax write-off.

Open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sonrise Corner Thrift Store is located at 361 S. Wayne St., across from the CVS Pharmacy.

For more information about the store, to drop off donations, or request an item pick-up, call Dr. Bob Poole at (478) 232-3531 or SCA at (478) 452-4242, or visit the nonprofit’s Facebook page.
