The University of Georgia has named a new leader to the Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
Laura Meadows is taking over the program that helps state and local government across the Southeast through customized assistance and training programs. Meadows has been the associate director of the institute's training division since 2009.
She replaces Jennifer Frum, who recently was named UGA's interim vice president for public service and outreach. University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby once served as the head of the Vinson Institute.
The institute was founded eight decades ago to help improve governance at all levels.
