Family and friends of a Milledgeville physician killed in a plane crash spoke of his love for family, friends and flying.

Miles Harry McDonald, 56, of Maplewood Avenue died on impact when the Cessna Centurion 210 he was flying crashed Monday afternoon into a wooded area in Jones County 10 miles from Baldwin County Airport.

McDonald worked as a staff anesthesiologist at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. He was also a former staff anesthesiologist at Oconee Regional Medical Center.

“I saw him two days ago in the operating room after he had finished. He was joking with everyone,” said Dr. Bill Cummings, leadership consultant with The Medical Center and long-time friend and co-worker. “There was never a negative thing you could say about this guy. The most cheerful person you could ever meet. He was constantly helping all of our nurses and doctors.”
