Boot Scoot & Boogie fundraiser to benefit Rooms of Hope will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Cowboy Bills on Hwy. 441 N. Tickets are tax deductible and available for $25 each and provides entrance, live music by Dakota Rose Band, and a chance to win cash all in a smoke-free environment. Rooms of Hope is a non-profit group raising money for local critically ill children to have their bedroom renovated and transformed into a dream bedroom. Georgia College Theatre presents “The 1940's Radio Hour: A Johnny Mercer Swing Dance Musical” by Walton Jones, directed by Dr. Amy Pinney and music directed by Dr. Wendy Mullen with an all Georgia College jazz band alumni orchestra. The event will be held in Russell Auditorium at 8 p.m. The 1940’s Radio Hour, set in WWII, takes a nostalgic journey down memory lane in the New York City radio station (WOV) located in the Hotel Astor’s Algonquin Room around Christmastime 1942. The performers are trying to hit it big and include a producer, torch singer, a comic and a waitress turned star. Tickets: $15 for general seating; $11 for Georgia College faculty and staff, non-Georgia College students and senior citizens; and $7 for Georgia College students.
